2024 Harvest Begins: Quality and Aromatic Complexity at the Heart of Production
By 2025, one hundred years after our first bottling, we aim to forge ahead into the future at full speed. The encounters of recent years, brainstorming sessions in the cellar, awards we’ve received, and our entrepreneurial spirit have all fueled our desire to grow and invest in people and the land. The winery is transforming into a true ecosystem where ideas and projects flourish, born out of a love for quality and a commitment to promoting, enhancing, and spreading the beauty and excellence of Puglia’s winemaking tradition across the globe.
Our ongoing mission has always been to experiment and offer a diverse range of products suited to various needs. The distinction and variety in our offerings allow us to put the customer at the center and make personalization the key to our positioning in a constantly and rapidly evolving market. New products, new processes, and a shift towards sustainability are three paths we’ve already embarked on, which will find further development and fulfillment in 2025.
One of the company’s commitments is to maintain a negative carbon footprint by reducing emissions through the use of state-of-the-art equipment, paired with the CO2 sequestration provided by the vines.
Some hectares of the Tenute Leone de Castris have been dedicated to the cultivation of leccino olive trees, to restore the former glory of a land devastated by Xylella, an infection that has affected around 21 million plants. The company’s production will therefore expand to include a new offering of extra virgin olive oil.
Another significant ongoing project is the creation of a cork oak forest. We are investing our resources in the long term, optimizing the supply chain while also contributing to reforestation and the regeneration of the Salento area.
Our sustainability efforts also extend to other areas, such as using new packaging for e-commerce and gift sales by eliminating polystyrene. We’ve also begun using lighter bottles to meet environmental impact criteria, which require the use of fewer materials in the disposal process.
The next few years will be key for the creation of a hospitality structure at the Donna Coletta estate. In addition, two new wines will be added to our collection.
Our most important project for 2025 is to listen, to make space for our winelovers who guide us through their needs, charting a course towards innovation and change, inspiring us every step of the way. Beyond the strong walls of the company, we are committed to a future full of achievements, goals, and glasses filled with emotion.
Merry Christmas and happy new year!
